San Francisco Giants (26-41, 12-23 away) at Colorado Rockies (42-26, 17-13 home)
June 15, 2017- 8:40 PM ET Coors Field, Denver, CO
Seeking to keep pace in the NL West, the Colorado Rockies will begin play with a big four-game series starting on Thursday night at Coors Field when they square off against the San Francisco Giants in a Game 1 matchup that has the following betting lines;
As the Rockies (42-26) find themselves tied amongst the top along with the Los Angeles Dodgers, they will seek to take full advantage of a struggling San Francisco team that finds themselves in last-place in the same division with a 26-41 record.
The NL West has shown so far that this may be a dogfight between the Rockies, Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks all year long making for needing to take advantage of “winnable” games that much more important.
And that is exactly the situation the Rockies are facing when they face a San Francisco team they have beaten 6 of 7 times thus far this season.
This will be the first meeting between these division rivals since April when the Rockies took three of four at home followed by a three-game sweep at San Francisco.
The Giants enter this series a hurt bunch after dropping a two-game series at home to the Kansas City Royals where they were outscored 15-3. San Francisco has lost 11 of 15 where much of their woes can be attributed to the lack of offensive punch.
For Colorado, they have captured 18 of 29 games with 22 of those coming on the road. Leading into the All-Star break, the Rockies will play 14 of their next 23 in the Rocky Mountains.
The pitching matchup to get this series started will pit left-hander Matt Moore (2-7, 5.28 ERA) of the Giants looking to outduel right-hander Jeff Hoffman (4-0, 2.33 ERA) of Colorado.
Moore has been pounded by the Rockies where he is 1-3 in five starts with a 7.92 ERA. In Coors Field, Moore is 0-2 with a 12.34 ERA. Hoffman for his part is a perfect 4-0 in as many starts with a 2.10 ERA.Prediction/Pick
The Giants will have their hands full in the series opener as Moore has been dominated against by the Colorado bats.
And as we look into the sports betting lines for our US players, BetOnline is favoring COL (-165 ML) over SF with an over/under of 11.0 total game runs scored. While all signs point to the Rockies, for betting purposes, I will favor the UNDER of 11.0 total game runs scored as my best betting pick.Recommended for you

The New York Giants have yet to win a game in the 2013 season, having a week’s rest in between each contest. Now, the team will look to end their losing streak with just three days to prepare.
Thursday night's matchup will kick off Week Six with New York visiting the Chicago Bears. The Giants are alone in last place of their division, while the Bears are tied for first in the NFC North.
Four NFL teams remain winless, but the Giants may be off to the most disappointing start in the league. They not only have five losses, but their games haven't been very competitive. Following a five-point defeat in the opener, all of New York’s losses have come by at least 15 points. Last week was the only one that saw the Giants open as favorites, but they haven’t covered one point spread.
Eli Manning continues to struggle week after week. Even when facing defenses that rank at the bottom of the league, like the Philadelphia Eagles, he’s made some major mistakes. Three more interceptions in Week Five put him at 12 for the season, giving him three more than Carson Palmer and Matt Schaub, who are tied for No.2 on the list. His 65.8 passer rating is the lowest of any quarterback that hasn’t been benched.
"The guy is trying to play the best he can," head coach Tom Coughlin said. "He's certainly trying to do too much. He knows his team and he knows his responsibility. He's an extremely accountable guy and he's going to do everything he possibly can. Sometimes it's not to be done that way."
The two-time Super Bowl MVP, though, hasn’t gotten the support that he’s received in the past. Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks continue to put up high yardage totals, but they’ve come up short in some key moments. Last week, Nicks appeared to give up on a route that led to an interception. Only four wide outs have registered more yards than Cruz, but he admits he has room to improve.
"It's everyone, the receivers, the offensive line,” said Cruz. “Everyone is to blame for some of these losses."
New York’s rushing attack has been virtually nonexistent in five games. Their 56.8 yards per game is the worst in the league, and they head into Soldier Field undermanned. David Wilson, who has carried the ball twice as many times as any of the team’s other running backs, won’t play because of a neck injury. Brandon Jacobs and a recently re-signed Da'Rel Scott will share time in the backfield.
The Giants are one of the worst teams in the league, but, lately, the Bears have had troubles of their own. Following a 3-0 start, Chicago has lost two in a row. In that time, the usually stout Bears defense has been picked apart. In their defeat to the Detroit Lions, they allowed 40 points. Against the New Orleans Saints, Chicago was burned by failing to force a turnover.
On offense, Jay Cutler has seen a reliable option at wide receiver, other than Brandon Marshall, emerge. Alshon Jeffery set a franchise record on Sunday with 218 yards in his second consecutive strong performance. He may be forced to have another big game, with tight end Martellus Bennett set as a game-time decision.
The Bears are favored by more than a touchdown, but they could be in trouble if they take the Giants lightly. They have a winning record, but only one victory has come by more than a field goal.
“I think they’re a good team,” said Bennett. “I think their win is coming. We just hope it’s not this week. I mean, it’s just like a sleeping giant. Sometimes you get to step over him and you don’t wake him up. Sometimes you try to step over him and he grabs your leg. We don’t want him to grab our legs.”
Prediction: Chicago 30, New York 17

San Francisco Giants vs. Arizona D-BacksMLB: 9:40 PM EST Apr. 06, 2017
The Giants and the Diamondbacks have Split their games with one loss and one victory. Their first outing, was impressive for Zack Greinke who stood his ground and got the Diamondbacks through and gave them their first victory of the season. Meanwhile, the Giants send Johnny Cueto who got them their first victory of the season, with a 7.20 ERA that wasn’t as good as last season’s 2.79 ERA. The great thing about this games is that the Giants are starting to show their offensive side and scoring runs often.
Facing Samardzija is Robbie Ray, who had a terrible season in 2016. Ray has 14 victories in his career with a 4.65 ERA. Last season, Ray had 8 victories, 15 losses, and a 4.90 ERA. In his 32 games started, Ray saw 174 innings, allowing 185 hits 24 home runs and a high 1.468 WHIP to stand on his side.
Giants are 44-21 in the last 65 meetings in Arizona.
Over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.
Giants are 6-1 in their last 7 Thursday games.
Diamondbacks are 4-1 in their last 5 overall.
With a few games already set and done, the Giants are looking stronger, faster and more aggressive, getting runs often and getting hits twice as faster. The Diamondbacks haven’t been the best, but have already faced 2 of the Giants best pitchers. With the offense RED HOT for both teams, expect a high scoring affair, but Samardzija will pick up where he left off and begin the season with a win. Final Score prediction San Francisco Giants win 7-4.Latest Articles Dolphins at Falcons 10/15/17 - NFL Picks & Predictions Lions at Saints 10/15/17 - NFL Picks & Predictions 49ers at Redskins 10/15/17 - NFL Picks & Predictions Browns at Texans 10/15/17 - NFL Picks & Predictions Packers at Vikings 10/15/17 - NFL Picks & Predictions Bears at Ravens 10/15/17 - NFL Picks & Predictions NFL Week 6 - Schedule, Free ATS Picks, Odds, & Totals Post your comment

The Giants have been on a tear, entering week-11 on a four-game winning street and coming off of a big Monday night win against Cincinnati.
Kickoff is set for 10:00 AM PST with Eli Manning under center for the home squad, New York Giants.
He’ll face-off against Jay Cutler, the enigmatic QB who has reclaimed the starting role for the Chicago Bears, after an injury to Brain Hoyer.Chicago Bears
Jay Cutler sustained a thumb injury after a shaky start to the season in his two starts, which both ended up as losses.
He’s regained his role with the injury to Brian Hoyer, but the odds are likely that Cutler parts way from the Bears.
In the meantime, Cutler has a chance to showcase what he may be able to do for other teams in need of a QB in 2017.
Thus far, Cutler has just three TDs against four INT in his four starts. Cutler has 807 yards and a passer rating sits at 77.1, well below his career average of 85.7.
Things won’t get any easier for Cutler, as star wideout, Alshon Jeffrey, has been handed a four games suspension for PED use and will be a major loss to the Chicago passing game.
Jeffrey leads the Bears in receiving yards at 630, but with nearly half of those yards (311) coming in Cutler’s for games. Look for Zach Miller, Cameron Meredith and Eddie Royal to see an increase in targets.
The Bears defensive unit, once a trademark around the NFL, has been one of the worst over the past few seasons.
While it’s still a work in progress, they’ve improved to become 19th best in points-per-game allowed at 24.4, and the 10th best standing in yards per game at 341.2. Jerrell Freeman and Danny Trevathan lead the charge for the Chicago team.New York Giants
Eli Manning has led his team to four straight victories, throwing for a completion percentage north of 60% in each of those games and 10 TDs, though with six INT over that span as well.
The 35-year old veteran has recorded 15 TDs on the season to go along with his 2,481 yards, the latter of which is good for a ranking of 9th overall.
Eli has a passer rating of 87.6 on the year, and certainly having a star target such as Odell Beckham Jr. help that.
Beckham is 7th amongst wide receivers with 773 yards and has six TDs, which ties him for fourth.
What won’t help the Giants offense is their run game, one that has only tallied 668 yards total on the season and has no one back with more than 255 yards.
Rashad Jennings leads the attempts and yardage by approximately 2:1 compared to any other of the Giants’ backcs. Jennings has just 255 yards for a 3.2 YPC and one TD on the year.
The Giants’ defense is led by Landon Collins, the second-year safety who is tops on the team in total tackles with 74, to go along with his four interceptions.
The Giants grade out 16th in terms of yards per game, allowing and average of 359.3, but 11th in points per game at 20.4.NFL Betting Trends:
While New York’s running game is far less superior than the Jordan Howard led Bears’, the passing game greatly favors the Giants, especially with Alshon Jeffrey watching from home.
NFL Free Score Prediction: Chicago 23 – New York 31
I like the Giants to cover the spread, considering how bad the Bears have been on the road and the key pieces the team is missing, as mentioned.
I trust the Giants’ defense more than the Bears, as strange as that probably sounds to old-school NFL fans, but the fact is that they rank 11th in points allowed per game.
